God Loves Corpus Christi

Some messages are simple on purpose.
Not complicated. Not clever. Not conditional.
Just true.
God loves Corpus Christi.
That is the heart behind this shirt.
Because when you live here, you know Corpus Christi is more than a dot on a map. It’s families, neighbors, sunsets, salt air, hard work, and real life. It’s also people carrying real burdens, real questions, and a real need for hope.
We wanted to create something you can wear that says, plainly and boldly, what
God has already said by His actions.
The Heart Behind the Message
A lot of people hear “God loves you” and assume it comes with fine print:
“God loves you… if you clean yourself up.”
“God loves you… if you perform.”
“God loves you… if you’re consistent.”
“God loves you… if you never fail.”
That is not the Gospel.
The good news is that salvation is a gift. Not earned. Not achieved. Not maintained by effort.
Scripture is clear:
“For if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace.” (Romans 11:6)
That means grace and works do not mix. If it’s grace, it’s free. If it’s earned, it isn’t grace anymore.
So when we say God loves Corpus Christi, we’re not talking about a generic motivational phrase. We’re pointing to the God who gives freely, saves freely, and invites people to come as they are and believe.
What the Design Means
We built this design to feel like home.
Front (Left Chest)
On the front left chest is our coastal Living Water Clothing logo. It’s subtle on purpose. It’s the everyday wear piece. The one you throw on and go.
Back (Main Graphic)
On the back, you’ll see:
A radiant sun
The Corpus Christi skyline
The coordinates of Corpus Christi
The statement: “God Loves Corpus Christi”
The skyline and coordinates are a reminder that God’s love isn’t abstract. It meets people in real places. Real streets. Real apartments. Real neighborhoods. Real workplaces.
And the sun? It’s a picture of light, warmth, and hope. A reminder that God still shines truth into darkness and offers life to anyone who will receive it.
Why This Matters in Our City
Corpus Christi has a lot of beauty. It also has a lot of pain that doesn’t always show.
People are trying to hold it together.
People are exhausted.
People feel like they’re behind.
People feel disqualified.
And the message they hear most often is: “Try harder.”
We want to put a different message into the wild. A message that interrupts the striving.
God loves Corpus Christi.
Not because we earned it.Not because we deserve it.Because He is love, and He gives.
The Gospel in One Sentence
If you’re new to all this, here it is as clearly as we can say it:
Eternal life is a free gift received by faith in Jesus Christ, not by works.
Jesus is the Savior. He died and rose again. And He promises eternal life to the one who believes in Him for it (John 3:16).
That’s it.
No performance ladder.
No spiritual scoreboard.
No earning your way in.
And for believers, grace is not just the entry point. It’s the foundation.
How to Wear It (And What We Hope It Does)
We hope this shirt does two things:
Reminds youWhen you’re tempted to believe God’s love is based on your week, your mood, or your track record, this brings you back to the truth.
Starts conversationsIt’s a city statement, but it’s also a God statement. People notice it. They ask about it. And sometimes that’s all it takes to open a door for the Gospel.
If someone asks why you wear it, you can simply say:
“Because God really does love this city. And He offers grace as a free gift through Jesus.”
